The Fisherman's Wife by Kaylee Scherer
When Simon leaves to follow a traveling teacher, Mira stays behind to hold their home together. With a sick mother, a failing business, and neighbors who call her abandoned, she must find strength in the shadows of someone else's calling.
As tensions rise across Galilee, Mira's quiet life is swept into something far greater, and far more life-altering, than she ever imagined.
✨ My 20th read of 2025 and the 11th read of my summer challenge✨
This novel was everything and more! Beautifully-written, inspirational, and faith-filled! Illustrated through the biblical perspective of Peter's wife, Mira, The Fisherman's Wife is a remarkable reconciliation of the miracles performed by Jesus and the early church ministry. I truly believe that my faith grew while reading this story! This book was so heartfelt and emotional, and it refocused my devotion to the Lord in my current season of waiting. Kaylee Scherer's storytelling, writing, characterization, and faithfulness in God are beautifully depicted in this splendid novel. I highly recommend this work of biblical fiction, so don't leave it off your TBR!
